| Dirty Fucker is so fucking groovy. Great song, totally addictive. Philly sounds so different to Nü Sing. Great new chorus. | |

| I know it's early on...but I think I like this album better than "Devour"... Maybe it's just because it's new and exciting but I've been listening to it nonstop for the last three days and I love it. I also love when Dave throws in a lyric or reference to another one of his songs...it makes me feel like I'm in on a "secret" , does anyone else feel that way? | |

| I love that, too. It's something I noticed he started doing with The Loved Ones, but I really like that self-referential thing. David Bowie did it a lot, too (so do some authors, like Stephen King and William S. Burroughs), and it's something I've always enjoyed.
Also, does anyone else think that the line "I didn't come to get hurt" in "The Mermaid" is a reference to "Get Hurt" by The Gaslight Anthem?

Yeah, exactly. "You dirty fuckers steal my shine" For me it´s just 2 days of listening, because of a Dropkick Murphys show on Monday. Man, the gig couldn´t be over soon enough, couldn´t wait to get home. Got home late, listened only once and was a bit disappointed... But two days and 20 more listenings later, I love this album! When I heard Dirty Fucker for the first time (in New York with Bad Religion) I was pretty sure that this would be my favorite track of the album. At the same time I was afraid that the recorded version won´t be such a killer song as the live version. But it is!!! My second favorite is The Ride: Amazing vibe, guitar and vocals. Also The Mermaid: Classic rock with great backing vocals from Tim. And of course Wild Love: Great lyrics and I love that kind of Irish sound. I don´t like Shaky Jesus and Helluva Home very much. Great vocals, but not really my kind of songs. And, to be honest, I liked Nü Song live in 2014 much more than the recorded Bury Me In Philly version. I don´t know yet if I like this album more than Devour. It´s certainly much more diversified and Dave´s vocals have a higher impact, what´s important to me because I just love his voice. It´s funny, when you read all these reviews in magazines, blogs or wherever, you find out that people have very different views on the songs. What´s the most amazing song for one person, is a failure or just a boring song to the other one. Seems that Bury Me In Philly is an album with very different songs on it and all people have a different taste in music. So forget all these reviews and just love what you like. ________________________ I'm gonna chase the mermaid and let her take me to the deep

Well, I don´t think so. But who knows... I obviously can't say for sure but I definitely think so. It's not like a common phrase and he and Fallon are good buds who obviously listen to each other's music.

| I think it'll be a long time before I decide if I think this album or Devour is better because they're honestly very different albums so I love them for different reasons. This one is more diverse musically, but Devour flowed better. Just two different strengths!
Dirty Fucker is definitely my favorite although probably in part because I've already seen it live and it blew me away in that setting. Was very glad to see it sounded the same on the album. But it's also the most out of place thematically haha. The Mermaid is probably the most interesting track to me. My Mistake, The Finch, and The Ride are all a blast and really hit me just right. With You and Bury Me in Philly are classic Hause. Devine Lorraine and Helluva Home are also interesting because while not a brand new sound in general, kinda new for him and to me it works because he didn't do 11 tracks with this vibe just the two, which is perfect. I like Devine Lorraine best of the two though. I need to listen to Wild Love more I think to appreciate it more. I don't dislike it but it hasn't grabbed me yet. I'm always slowest to come around to the slow songs though so I'm giving that one time.
The best thing to me about this record is that Dave's really reviving rock music as it used to be, but still putting his own punky spin on it, which is wonderful. Feels like virtually no other artists under 40 are playing music like this anymore AND have the live performance at the level he does. It's almost all either punk or that indie hipster garbage and everyone hides behind their microphone. This album sounds refreshingly familiar (I say that as a positive thing) and I can't wait to see Dave playing regularly with a full band!
