The Mermaid

With the first show announcement in Canada yesterday, I´m getting more and more excited. I can hardly wait for all the news which should come soon and I´m very curious about the new band! Dave told us that he wants to hire a keyboard player so that Tim can focus on playing guitar. (He did well on the Vox Populi Tour!) I have no idea about the bass player yet. Still hoping for Spider, although it´s rather unlikely. But I´m pretty sure that Kevin Conroy ( http://www.kcdrums.com/ ) will be the new drummer. Hopefully we´ll get a loooong newsletter soon.

Seems that one of Jay Bentley´s sons will play the bass. Nice, let´s hope he is as good as his dad in Bad Religion.

Well now, Dave´s new formed band is called The Mermaid. I´m curious about the story behind this name. There´s also a song with this title on Bury Me In Philly.

And I´m even more curious about the band members. Time for some speculations until Dave introduces them. This is what I found out so far:

Guitar: Tim Hause
Bass: Miles Bentley
Drums: Kevin Conroy
Keyboard: Kayleigh Goldsworthy

I like the concept of Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and would love if Dave Hause & The Mermaid work the same way in the future.

There are some changes in The Mermaid:

Miles Bentley got a "real job" and wasn´t on tour with Dave in 2019. He was replaced by Matt Olsson who also plays drums for Brian Fallon.

Kayleigh Goldsworthy recently joined Frank Iero´s new band The Future Violents. She is on tour with Frank Iero from June till August 2019. I´m curious who´ll play keys for The Mermaid during this time.

Kayleigh was not replaced on this 2019 tour. Less keyboard than usual, played by Tim.
