I just want to point out that it was NOT my 60th birthday, it was my 60th Dave Hause show.
Look out Susan, I just bought tickets to my 12th Dave show. I'm catching up to you quick!
Haha, try to catch me up! Six shows next month...
SIX??! Ah that's why you've seen so many shows. For every 1 I go to, you go to 6! Well I still have 1 more this Friday and then I think I'm done for the year (she says for the 4th time).

It´s a long time till the end of the year...
You´re going to see the show in Brooklyn!? Wow, I´m sooo jealous! Enjoy and let us know how it was!

True. But as of right now he doesn't have any more shows announced in my area and honestly I'm trying not to keep going to see him so much. I tend to get sick of stuff I do/see/listen to too much (yes even Dave) so I'm trying to keep that from happening! But it's also hard to not go to a free show in Brooklyn, with other great artists on the bill, when I LIVE in Brooklyn.
But honestly, I don't know how you guys do it. I think I'd be genuinely bored at shows if I went that much. I mean, I already go so much that I feel like my expectations for my favorites (Dave, Gaslight, etc) have gone through the roof! But hey, if it works for you, then more power to ya!
Edit: Hm, sounds a bit hoarse. And he played his old Les Paul with the broken (and fixed) neck! I´d like to hear this one again. On the last two EU tours he played another, similar guitar.

He was DEFINITELY hoarse. I didn't really notice it until he spoke for the first time. Considering how terrible he sounded speaking, I thought he sang pretty well! He also seemed a bit under the weather. Dunno if he was actually sick or just a little beat up from the day before or whatever. Caught a glimpse of him at the Bouncing Souls show the next day though so couldn't have been too bad! Although I don't think he crowd surfed this time, haha.
Yesterday was the first festival show of this run at Rocco Del Schlacko Festival. Dave and Tim played on a tiny, high stage that was standing on a box with beverages fridges (? Don't know the right word in English).
Great show with a setlist as ususal with one exception: He played "Gideon", a My Morning Jacket cover. Normally I don't like coversongs very much, but this one was amazing with the two guitars!

No Gideon yesterday in Poland. But another coversong; Just One Of The Guys by Jenny Lewis. The first ever Poland show was a great intimate club show in a very nice Venue. I like that much better than the huge festival shows!
Here´s the setlist (Dave played The Bridge instaed of Resolutions) and a few photos from Poznan 11.08.2014:
Back in real life, cared about neglected job and life mate for a few days, time for some words about the last shows.
Lowlands Festival NL, 15 August 2014
I´ve got to say this is a very well organized festival, 90.000 people and no chaos at the parking, entry or somewhere else. Dave played in one of the smaller tents. We were quite surprised that he did the soundcheck himself (actually Tim´s job) and played a solo show without Tim. I talked with Paul (Dave´s tourmanager) a few days later and he said the only way to make the festival was to take a flight from Austria to Holland. So Dave took a plane while Paul and Tim did a 12 hour roadtrip.
The show was a bit different without keys and second guitar but nonetheless awesome as always. In the middle of the show Dave invited a girl to come on stage and show the audience how to clap. Floor took the stage, enjoyed herself, entertained the audience and clapped completely out of time. Obviously she had no idea who Dave was and didn´t know any of his songs, but it was fun.
Later on Dave got a cape from a guy in the front and declared himself as the new king of the Netherlands. Ususally Tim plays the guitar at the end of The Shine, while Dave goes into the crowd. Tim wasn´t there, so Dave went with his guitar...

It's so lovely to kind of be at all these gigs through your reports. Thank you, Susan!
I totally agree with this! Many thanks, Susan.
Apparently I missed your post...

Although I think our country would be a lot more fun with Dave Hause as a King I think all music lovers (me included) and King Dave himself benefit more when he continues doing what he's doing Man... I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy to be the King of the Netherlands...
I guess this is the biggest festival in Belgium with 185.000 visitors and eight stages. Except for the main stage all stages are housed in tents. Before Dave´s set we hoped for heavy rain and loads of people to come in. Well, it didn´t rain very much but the tent was pretty packed anyway.
During The Shine Dave asked a guy (playing air guitar in the front) to join him on stage and he did. I think you all know the youtube video already. Allways in touch with his audience, no matter how big it is.
This festival is a nice one and it´s for free. One week of music, art and culture on 20 stages in all parts of the lovely city. Worth a visit.
Dave played in a tent, in front of maybe 300 people. No barriers, felt more like a club show than a festival. The audience was very relaxed, a mother with two little kids in the front row and no drunken Trusty Chords yelling idiots. Not quite an ecstatic show, but it was great as always and fitted well with the festival. By the way the first ever show in Sweden.
A guy requested some Loved Ones songs and Dave changed the setlist; He played Pretty Good Year and The Bridge. Heavy Heart and Resolutions were not played.
Where the fuck is Schleswig? I know cause I´m from northern Germany, but it was a bit weird to play the only German headline show in this village in the middle of nowhere.
However, the venue had once been a casern. Now used as a culturale/youth centre for events, concerts or partys and as rehearsal rooms for bands. There were about 150 people in the tiny room and I was like "Shit, he played in front of thousands of people and now this ..." But you know what? Dave obviously enjoyed the gig and played one hell of a show. At the end of The Shine he ended up standing on a table in the middle of the room.
Highlights: Dave started playing Knock Me Over, a Cheap Girls cover (I love this song!), but he fucked it up and sadly he broke off and didn´t finished it. And he played a song I never heard before. Without any comments. But it was clearly a new Dave Hause song! Very personal lyrics and typical guitar. I loved it from the start and I´m really looking forward to the next album!!!
He played the new song in Amsterdam, too. What do you think about it?
I agree with JerseyChris: I liked it very much. I heard it in Amsterdam, and even though I didn't catch all the lyrics, it was obviously personal (which - like JerseyChris wrote - you noticed from the first line). I can't wait till it's released (for obvious reasons), but also because my hearing isn't too well and I usually need to read the written lyrics to fully get the finesses of a song.
If this is exemplary for the next album he’s been talking about, I’m one happy camper.
Well, usually I´m always a bit afraid of the next album of my favorite bands (like U2 or Gaslight Anthem)... But after hearing this song I´m pretty sure that the next Dave Hause album will be awesome!
